The Geographic South Pole
Even now, reaching the southernmost point on Earth is a feat that very few people have achieved. During the seven-hour flight, we land on the polar plateau to refuel, and you will have a chance to walk around this vast, foreboding wilderness getting a real taste for the immense scale of Antarctica.
Back on board, we continue to the South Pole, landing at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole station. At the designated marker, you will be at the lowest point on Earth. At the designated marker, you will be standing at 90 degrees south, where every direction is north. In just a few steps, you can quite literally walk around the world.
Antarctica's Blue Rivers
Hidden within Antarctica’s frozen interior, rivers of luminous blue ice carve elegant paths across the continent. Formed over millennia, these striking channels reveal ancient glacial ice in ever-changing shades of sapphire and aquamarine.
Seen from the air or explored on foot, the Blue Rivers offer an intimate encounter with one of Antarctica’s most extraordinary landscapes, a place of profound stillness, remarkable beauty and enduring wonder.
Visible for only a brief window each Antarctic summer, the Blue Rivers are among the continent’s rarest natural phenomena. As seasonal glacial meltwater flows across the ancient ice, brilliant channels emerge before disappearing once again. Witnessed by only a very few, they offer a fleeting glimpse of Antarctica in one of its most extraordinary and ever-changing forms.
